　　美國(guó)能源部（DOE）是當(dāng)局的先鋒，鼓勵(lì)發(fā)展固態(tài)照明（SSL）。雖然制造商已經(jīng)取得了巨大的進(jìn)步，其產(chǎn)品的功效，美國(guó)能源部熱衷于推動(dòng)LED制造商更難以實(shí)現(xiàn)LED技術(shù)的全部潛力。

　　白光LED用熒光粉轉(zhuǎn)換––皇家藍(lán)色LED結(jié)合釔鋁石榴石（YAG）熒光粉––和混色發(fā)光二極管––單獨(dú)的紅，綠，藍(lán)（RGB）設(shè)備的光混合––擁有199和266流明/瓦的理論最大的功效，分別為（一次內(nèi)在包裝效率低下了考慮到）。

　　DOE sets the goal

　　The U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005 directs the DOE to “support research， development， demonstration， and commercial application activities related to advanced solid-state lighting technologies based on white light emitting diodes.” In support of that objective， DOE periodically releases its Multi-Year Program Plan.1 Last published in April 2012， the plan is a comprehensive document that focuses on core technology research and product development， which is an important part of the department’s efforts to guide SSL technology from laboratory to marketplace.

　　The plan includes the DOE’s projections of efficacy， detailing the targets from 2011 onwards （Table 1）。 Projections are included for the two leading white-light LED technologies： royal-blue LEDs combined with YAG-phosphor conversion and RGB color-mixed LEDs （see the TechZone articles “Whiter， Brighter LEDs” and “Creating White Light by Adding – Not Subtracting – Color” respectively.）
