基于濾波和融合的指紋圖像增強算法

指紋圖像增強對于提高細節(jié)特征提取的準確率乃至整個自動指紋識別系統(tǒng)的性能都
具有重要的意義。大部分的指紋圖像增強算法都需計算指紋圖像的紋線局部方向，本文給出了一種指紋圖像增強的新方法，該方法不計算指紋圖像局部區(qū)域內的方向，而將指紋圖像按8 個不同方向濾波，得到8 幅濾波后的圖像，再利用小波變換對8 幅圖像進行融合得到增強后的圖像。實驗表明，該算法有效的提高了指紋圖像的質量。

Abstract: Fingerprint image enhancement is important to feature extraction and the performance of fingerprint identification/verification systems rely. Most of the algorithms for fingerprint image enhancement depend on local orientation of fingerprint image. In this paper, an effective algorithm for fingerprint image enhancement which need not calculate the local orientation of fingerprint image is developed. First, the fingerprint image is filtered with eight different orientations. Then the eight filtered images are fused to get the enhanced image. The results of experiment indicate the algorithm improves the fingerprint images quality effectively.
